Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency following a tragic UPS plane crash in Louisville that claimed the lives of at least nine individuals. The incident, involving a MD-11 aircraft enroute to Honolulu, occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, sending a massive plume of smoke into the sky visible across Louisville and southern Indiana.
Gov. Beshear provided an update on Wednesday, revealing that more than 50 trucks and over 200 first responders are at the crash site. He expressed gratitude to the responders for their efforts and confirmed the arrival of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in Louisville to commence the investigation.
